Premises Liability

Premises Liability

A growing area of personal injury is premises liability, which is where a person is hurt while on the property of another. This can be a slip and fall at the mall, or an injury suffered while at the movies, on or near a construction site, while attending a sporting event, in a parking lot, at a hotel or motel, while at the airport or on an airplane, while riding a bus or using a taxi or rideshare service, on a public walkway or sidewalk, in the private home of another, at a public or private swimming pool, or during time spent at a park or recreational area. Property owners have a responsibility to safely maintain the premises, and when unsafe conditions go unrepaired or unattended, the owner is liable for any injury caused.
